Image creditI once knew a heart-achingly beautiful girl. We were best friends. At least, I thought we were at the time. She had a lot of issues with men. Some of it stemmed from the unhealthy relationship she had with her father, some were from the way men had treated her wrongly from a much too early age. The curse of being beautiful. (Image not of girl I knew).
Taking gold from the hands of another man
She's too afraid to admit to herself
That what she's doing is so out of character
She can't live with the shame, shame, shame
C'mon girl you know better than that
The boy you're hurting don't deserve all that pain
C'mon girl you know better than that
How can you live with the shame, shame, shame?
We were once so close and now you're so far away
Why did you decide you couldn't face me again?
What did I do, what on earth did I say?
To make you think I couldn't help you with men?
Taking love from the heart of another man
Then she breaks it & leaves him lying in the dark
To pick up the pieces, wondering what went wrong
Thinking....."how can she live with the shame, shame, shame?"
