Thanks so much for being brave & sharing your story! So many people are affected by anxiety, stress, depression and a range of other psychological challenges and feel like they're totally alone. The truth is about 1 in 4 people face these or similar challenges at some point in their life... Which is sad and unfortunate but also good to remind us that we're never alone!

I'm so happy to have read that exercise has helped you face the challenge. The physical and psychological benefits of exercise are so incredible - it offers you a natural high. Obviously it's not the be-all-and-end-all, but it's great that you've taken control of your life and situation and are taking positive, constructive steps to help improve your quality of life. Good on you & good luck to you - you're an inspiration! :)

The same applies to those with other eating disorders, like anorexia, a close family member of mine suffered from it when she was younger and everyone just told her to eat. Not that simple. It was a mental barrier that she had to break down and someone close to her was being emotionally abusive, telling her she wasn't attractive and needed to lose more weight. She was about 42kg at the time. To this day she still can't diet or obsess over weight, otherwise the thoughts and patterns come flooding back.

Stay strong, one step at a time. xox

What a beautiful story! I haven't heard such a touching way that Twitter has brought someone into a whole new circle of friends this way.

I've been surprised at how many people in Perth use Twitter as well. I'm in Ohio USA but have found myself following a number of Twitterers from Perth. Sounds like an interesting place.
